How long should a Hearing Aid last for?
The Good news is that current hearing aids are built to last for a very long time.
Here at Viewpoint we routinely see users with hearing aids that are over 5 years old and working perfectly.
It is our view that technology is not increasing at the same rate as previously. There are far fewer innovations and therefore the need to constantly have ‘the newest thing’ is no longer necessary.
Do you offer wax removal services?
Good news, we do. We use micro-suction as this has been proven as the safest and most efficient way to remove wax.
Costs start at £30 per ear for clearance. We do not charge for follow up appointments if the treatment is unsuccessful at the first attempt.
For those who need to have their ears cleared more than once a year, we offer a monthly scheme which works out far more financially viable as an alternative to paying per session.
Are private Hearing Aids much better than their NHS equivalent?
Several factors come must be considered when answering this question. The current waiting time for NHS hearing aid provision is at an all time high.
There should be a maximum wait of 4 months but this is often much longer.
There is no limitation to the range of hearing aids provided privately and the function and physical fit of private hearing aids provided are far more tailored to your individual needs.
Importantly, aftercare is were Viewpoint really excels, you will be seen quickly and efficiently every time.
Are you able to advise with regards to noise protection earplugs?
Again, we can help!
We provide both off the shelf and custom made products from both Phonak and ACS custom.
We offer an impression taking service in house.
Can your audiology service assess and treat Children?
In most cases, we can.
We would always advise a parent or guardian to seek help from their GP before obtaining our opinion.
Our Audioglogist has experience with assessing and treating children. If there is any doubt, please contact us for an informal conversation.
How much do private Hearing Aids cost?
We offer a range of hearing aids with many different styles available. Our initial costs are far less than other providers as we employ an ongoing aftercare plan.
Hearing aid prices start from £1695 for a pair, up to £2995 for the most high tech options.
